Step 1: Book an assessment

Step 2: We assess your electrical service

A Saint John Energy electrician will come to your business to see if you have sufficient service to power an EV charger and enough space on your panel for the charger’s circuit breaker. If you need to upgrade your system, we will also provide a cost estimate and take care of that work.

Step 3: We apply for an electrical permit

We apply for a New Brunswick electrical permit on your behalf.

Step 4: We do any electrical upgrades.

If you need to upgrade your electrical service or panel, we take care of the labour and parts.

Step 5: We install your EV charger.

Our professional electricians install your new Level 2 charger. You’re all set to start charging!

  • We carry the Grizzl-E Smart and Tesla Wall Connector EV chargers.

  • The EV charger packages are available to Saint John Energy residential and commercial customers. Residential customers must own an EV to qualify for the program. If you are an NB Power customer, click here to view their program.

  • The Grizzl-E Smart Charger is eligible for a $750 rebate through the Plug-In NB Rebate Program for residential customers. The Tesla Wall Connector is not eligible for the rebate.

  • The rebate for residential customers is $750.

  • Saint John Energy will process the rebate for you. We will gather any information needed for the rebate application. We will apply the rebate directly to your EV charger package price.

  • You can pay the total cost of the package upfront. You may also finance the package for up to five years on your Saint John Energy bill. Our interest rate for financing is prime + 4%.

  • Yes! All kinds of businesses, including multi-unit apartment or condo buildings, are eligible. Please contact us to discuss the details of your property.

  • Yes, you can install as many EV chargers as you’d like. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

  • Pricing for residential customers starts at $999 for the Grizzl-E Smart charger, which includes a $750 rebate. The Tesla Wall Connector starts at $1764, as it does not qualify for a rebate. Pricing for commercial customers starts at $1764 for both models, as they do not qualify for rebates. If you need to upgrade your electrical system, there are additional costs, depending on the required work.

  • As part of your application process, we will assess your situation. After the evaluation, we will inform you if additional costs are required to update your electrical panel.

  • Factors such as the charger's location, distance from the electrical panel, type of breaker required, etc., may increase the installation cost. During our assessment visit, our electrician will determine if you need any upgrades and provide a cost estimate for this work

  • Internal Saint John Energy electricians do the charger-only installations. We bring in qualified external contractors for more complex installations that require electrical upgrades

  • Electrical contractors in New Brunswick must get a wiring permit for electrical installations involving five or more kilowatts of added load, which our EV chargers exceed. Our licenced electrical contractors get the permit on your behalf as part of your package.

  • Grizzl-E Return and Refund Policy

    Tesla EV charger warranty

    The offered charger is covered by a 3-year replacement warranty. The Grizzl-E EV charger is made with high-quality components and goes through rigorous quality assurance throughout the production process. If any product performance issue arises, the manufacturer will replace it free of charge within 1-5 business days. The warranty will not apply if the product has been misused, abused, or altered. The warranty for the cable does not include normal tear and wear. This warranty does not cover plugs exposed to snow or water for a prolonged period. The warranty will apply only if the charger is defective. The 3-year manufacturer warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the first buyer/owner.

  • Our optional maintenance plan covers repairs/replacement for product defects or installation issues under normal operating conditions. It is $4.99 per month. You must enroll at the time of installation. Your first year is free, and it is free to cancel at any time.

  • Level 2 chargers are intended for regular use at your home or business. Level 3 chargers are for infrequent use, not at home. Most homes don’t have the correct voltage to install a Level 3 charger, and they are significantly more expensive.

  • Absolutely! It’s the same simple process as for new customers. Residential customers, contact us for a free assessment. Commercial customers, contact us to book your free assessment.
