How is Saint John Energy's investment in Wind Different Than the Ontario Experience?

The main difference: timing. Wind is now the cheapest source of energy.

Ontario invested in wind as an “early adopter” of the technology and paid a premium to get renewables onto the system before it was cost effective. That is what drove prices up. Wind is now the cheapest source of energy.

Like any other new technology, it’s expensive when it’s new but it matures and gets better and cheaper and that’s what has happened with wind. It now makes good financial sense to invest in wind and we will also have the means to store it before it comes online.
